Survival is a struggle for not-for-profits, especially for those in communities where a not-for-profit museum holds on. Budgeting is a cash crunch, without an annual flow of grants, donations and large gifts from philanthropies.

When I was honored with a Best Mobile App Award Platinum Nomination for Black History Museums in 2022, I didn’t realize the number of ongoing updates that would be needed for the app.

There have been multiple postal address changes. That’s good if the facility is growing, expanding and moving to a new place. There have been multiple website address changes. That’s bad for public continuity. There have been brand new Black history museums entering the museum space. That’s wonderful!

We’ve just released the October, 2026 version of Black History Museums for Android updating some of the required changes mentioned above along with many more changes and improvements.

This is a free app for you and for those in your family or circle.
