Producer Willie Mitchell extended the famous gritty Memphis Stax sound by creating his own unmistakable style; facilitated by the talents of Al Green, Syl Johnson, O.V. Wright, and Ann Peebles.

Ann's "I Can't Stand The Rain," a song she co-wrote, is a classic soul masterpiece.

The St. Louis, Missouri native recorded the song with Mitchell in 1973. In 1992, Ann recorded an "unplugged" version that matches the original in stellar vocal prowess.
