Still listening to CD's in the car, in your home, or at your job? We've downloaded tons of music from iTunes, but we still love CD's too. On January 17, 2018 the Sony Music CD plant in Terre Haute, Indiana announced that 380 workers would lose their jobs when several parts of the plant are closed. Sony will outsource the manufacturing of DVDs and CDs to "Technicolor Home Entertainment," in California. Now Target and Best Buy look to phase out CD's. https://rainnews.com/best-buy-and-target-launch-efforts-to-scale-back-cd-sales/ Previous Post | Next Post

What's great about digital syndication? Films and television shows can last forever! Enter Soul Train. First it was Time Life for the DVD package shown below, now it's Viacom, another aggregator of digital intellectual property that has acquired the rights to distribute Soul Train. According to the Los Angeles Times did you know that there are more than 1,100 episodes of the classic Soul Train programs? Maybe the 'rest in peace' soul of Don Cornelius approves of this acquisition (as long as his heirs are getting a piece of the action). • 0 Oil Spill Worries Won't Stop The Essence Music Festival in New Orleans

The last time I was in New Orleans, I was treated to a trip on one of those paddle wheel riverboat casinos (right out of the Mark Twain era). Bayous, the mighty Mississippi, and the Gulf of Mexico keep the aquatic soul of New Orleans hummin'. Despite the problems from the recent Gulf oil spill, the reliable Essence Music Festival makes it's annual appearance July 2nd through July 4th, 2010 in the Big Easy. Pig-out on regional shrimp gumbo at your own risk, although we don't want to be accused of questioning the safety of the area's seafood. You'll experience some of the best food, and some of the best music found in any USA city right in New Orleans. The Essence Music Festival main stage headliners keep the tradition alive during the July 4th holiday weekend. Previous Post | Next Post
