0 Sizing Up Thanksgiving Match 3 Game App Screens

What kind of mobile phone do you have? From a game developers point of view, if your phone is iOS, we celebrate. Why? iPhone and iPad models add up to a few dozen variants so designing a visual layout to accommodate these devices is straight forward. Unfortunately (for app developers) there are thousands of Android device models with design features that challenge our screen layouts! As an example some of our mobile apps have nearly 14,000 Android devices in their list of supported units! Every manufacturer takes liberties with the Android operating system to make changes. Samsung in the past has made more changes than others. Here are some examples using our Thanksgiving Match 3 Game, just updated for Android. An older version is in the App Store for iOS, but the new version of Thanksgiving Match 3 is coming for iPhone - iPad soon. Except for the Fire tablet, all examples you see are rendered through emulators while we actually play the game live in real time. We use in the examples the same game level 9 (there are 20 levels) featuring an 8 column by 5 row design for level 9. See how there are subtle differences across the devices? One comment about Samsung. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 5G phone (their most expensive) challenges this game layout. Yes it works on their foldable phone (screen shot with the game on it not shown) but the phone is so wide rather than tall that we'd have to make a minor adjustment to just the home screen (and not the game) to optimize the look. Now, see the differences between the LG and Google phones... Here are two more, Huawei P40 Pro and Amazon Fire 7 (9th generation) tablet.   Note again it's the same exact screen design but rendered differently across all of these devices! It has gotten easier over the past couple of years to build app projects that will look good despite what phone or tablet you have. We asked you about your phone or tablet. Here are a few of ours that we own and use the most: Samsung Galaxy S8 Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Motorola Droid Turbo 2 Two Fire tablets (3rd generation and 9th generation) iPhone X iPad Air 1 We have to use a lot of devices to test-test-test the apps we develop. The highlighted ones above we use everyday. The Droid Turbo 2 is always in my pocket! Wifi is wonderful for all of these phones - tablets. iPhone X and Droid Turbo 2 do have active cellular service. There are a few more not listed that we use only for testing and for nothing else. These Fire tablets are the only devices we purchased brand new. All other devices were bagged pre-owned used! As for the game used in the examples, you'll want Thanksgiving Match 3 Game version 2.0 submitted to both Google Play and the Amazon App Store as of this writing. Hopefully they will go live within days. Grab the original iPhone version too right now. Version 2 for iPhone is coming soon. Have a wonderful fall season! 0 Snakes and Ladders Mobile Board Game App

According to the Times of India, "The board game, today called Snakes and Ladders, originated in ancient India, where it was known as Mokshapat or Moksha Patamu." Ancient is an understatement! The Times of India adds "According to some historians, the game was invented by Saint Gyandev in the 13th century A.D." "Originally, the game was used as a part of moral instruction to children." "The square in which ladders start were each supposed to stand for a virtue, and those housing the head of a snake were supposed to stand for an evil." You can learn more about the game backstory elsewhere. Luckily, we aren't interested in teaching you morals here! As board games go, Snakes and Ladders is a classic. One of our summer of 2021 projects was to create our first mobile board game. This is it. Here's a sneak peak at the finished mobile game in the video below. Some more tweaking is in store including increasing the size of each square. Game play is person vs. person, or person vs. device (artificial intelligence). In the slightly sped up 45 second example video below all four players roll the dice themselves by touching the 'Roll Dice' button in their color (bottom of screen). Our Snakes and Ladders game is currently in Portrait view. We may experiment in making it landscape instead so the game board can be bigger and wider. Take a look and expect a fall 2021 release for iPhone, iPad, and Android. An enjoyable game is coming for all ages.

Word games have always captured the attention of a universal audience. They are popular for entertainment while building language skills. Expanding the mind is not necessarily the focus of runners. There's the athletic challenge along with the drama of competition in a race. We have elements of both words and running in the action based mobile game app Spelling Runners for iPhone, iPad, and Android. Can you be the first to complete all 400+ levels? Year round our five match 3 games are very popular. We continue to update them based on your feedback. Backpack Bounce Match 3 is getting a nice makeover. Here's the original Backpack Bounce game: Here's the new expanded Backpack Bounce game: Bonus bombs are now in the game, along with another special backpack that can't be matched. Don't worry. This extra backpack does a super-score powerup if it is close to one of the bombs in a match round. There are now multiple levels in the game to keep things lively, interesting and fun. 0 People Power Jigsaw Puzzle App Pop?

Almost one year ago, we introduced the free People Power Jigsaw Puzzle mobile game for iPhone, iPad, and Android. You might be asking yourself, why is this post called "People Power Jigsaw Puzzle App Pop?" In this case, "pop" is used to mean 'come or go suddenly.' That's exactly what happened to the jigsaw game in one of the major app stores. First let me say I'm honored to have this app in The App Store for iOS, and in the Amazon App Store for Android. I firmly believe in the visual message this game sends to you, so celebrating diverse people, their pursuits, their jobs, and their hobbies means a lot. We can't compromise our values, so the fact that Google Play removed the app is fine with us. Not everyone is going to love what you create or what you do. Would you create an electronic product for consumers knowing that you could not trust the reliability of your creation? We wouldn't, and we don't, however bug ridden technology has been shoveled into the hands of eager consumers forever. The game Cyperpunk 2077 is just one example of a video game title that should have never been released because of multiple problems inside of the app known to the creators. I never won the project coding races while creating source code as a college student. Accuracy without bugs was always more important to me than speed. Today, when I scan through public reviews about our apps, even when people don't like a title, some will say "at least it runs great on my phone." So what do we do in-house to implement excellent quality control? Here's an example using our new app: Spelling Runners game for iPhone, iPad, and Android has just been released . The game uses cyber athletes who compete in an arena arcade completing words by running over letters with their feet. We test games on real devices before submitting them to the app stores using these solid tools plus several more not listed: Motorola Phone Samsung Phone Samsung Tablet Amazon Fire Tablet iPhone iPad So Spelling Runners for Android has to work perfectly on those four Android devices before we release the game. You'd be surprised about the subtle differences across Android hardware as each manufacture changes Android in a variety of ways. Even with an iPhone and iPad, elements have to be just right so that an app performs correctly on either device. Nothing is ever perfect, so there is always room for future tweaks to make an app even better. Once everything works, you are the final judge about gameplay and aesthetics! We love the serious 'Black History apps' we create for the community. We also love the entertainment side of mobile devices. That's why developing a few games targeted toward the young at heart is very important to us. Santa Jump Game Party mobile app is for everyone. It's not a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena slaughterhouse. There are plenty of violent MOBA's you can play. But back to Santa... A year ago in 2019 we released Santa Jump Game for Android with zero publicity from us. It's a super easy casual game you can start playing and master immediately. Touch, jump, and score. That's it. As we release the iOS version today, we took some of the iOS upgrades and shared them with the Android version. Both versions are identical. We'll start to get the word out about this game now. 0 Hip Hop And R&B Plant Flags In One Mobile Quiz App

We all have our favorite decade of music. This is how radio stations continue to schedule their rotation of tunes. These stations pick a decade or two to target a listener demographic. Generally, the music you grew up with during your teen and young adult years is the music you identify with the most. Today, it's easier than ever to discover new music through different digital platforms, but only certain generations of music lovers participate in discovering fresh tracks. Maybe our busy lives are a distraction as we get older. With some of these principles in mind, we've streamlined our presentation of two music mobile quiz apps. Earlier in 2020, we consolidated three Black History audio book apps into one app keeping the same amount of valuable free content. We're now doing the same thing with the apps RnB Music Quiz Soul and Hip Hop Quiz, but there's a catch! The new RnB and Hip Hop Quiz game is now a multi-category quiz. R&B has it's own section. Hip Hop has it's own section. We focus on a throwback vibe from A to Z with the artists, producers, writers, and music makers. You can select the section you want at any time. The levels don't have to be played consecutively. Levels 1 - 12 are dedicated to R&B multiple choice questions. Levels 13 - 24 do the same for Hip Hop. By putting each musical genre in the same app, you now have many hundreds of questions to enjoy in the game. If you are into Black music discovery and learning something new, RnB and Hip Hop Quiz app is worth checking out. It's a consolidation of cultures. You can argue that Hip Hop is R&B music but we won't debate it here because each genre has its passionate disciples. Just mentioning the genre names conjures up specific assumptions we may all have. You can play the genre you love the most exclusively in this quiz game, or you can dive into them all. The R&B levels all share the identical level images. The Hip Hop level images all feature different people. Ignore the actual level numbers in the pictures below as these are not the updated numbers...  The updated RnB and Hip Hop Quiz Game app is now live on Google Play and ready for you to grab for your Android Phone. We'll be updating the Android version for The Amazon App Store, and the iOS version for The App Store in the coming weeks. You'll find out right here when they are ready. RnB Music Quiz Soul app stand-alone is still available as of this writing in The App Store for iOS. Hip Hop Quiz stand-alone is still available in The Amazon App Store for Android. Eventually, we will retired the stand-alone Hip Hop Quiz app and the stand-alone RnB Music Quiz Soul app as they are no longer needed.
